Lost my cool and other shit

Ok not really.
But I finally got my copy of the Hex dispensers My love is a bat 7" back. I travelled last year to montreal and ended up buying a hex dispensers 7 " while I was there. How weird is that.
Anyway on the way back, I had no real way to carry it so I let my friend RadioActive carry it with her records. Well she and I never could remember to ask/bring it when we met up. Finally got it and listened to it. Bad Ass is all I can say, If you can find it buy it. Its on Alien Snatch Records, and was limited to 500.
Side A is the highlight " My love is a bat" but side B is no slouch. Cloak and Dagger Complication. The Art is fantastic, like all Hex dispensers stuff.

I got a new job and its taking all my time currently so I am making no more claims about my podcast timeline. but until then, Enjoy this.

Space is the New Japan

After this years SXSW, I have the distinct impression that Space is this years Japan. A few years ago it was all about the Scandinavians, then it was japan, and this year I say its space. I was lucky enough to see the She Creatures who hail from Venus by way of the UK. The bass Player Also played a theremin. Most times she was playing it while she took a break on the bass but on occasion she played both instruments at the same time.




I did make it out to see at least one Austin band. The always excellent Hex Dispensers.





Overall I hit some good free Beer and BBQ and saw some good bands. I plan on hitting up a new podcast this week.

SXSW

As usual there is a lack of Austin punk band promotion during the SXSW Music Festival. There was a good bill at Beerland Last night. Super Secret/Mortville Records. I did not make it. :( It was not an official SXSW showcase from what I can tell. Anyway, hitting some free day shows today and tomorrow.
I am going to try and catch the hex dispensers at the Longbranch Inn tomorrow. I'll also be playing at MYXYY ( 96 Lyyn St. ) @ 7 PM on Friday with a band called the Saltworth Sundries. New podcast next week.

Friends of Houston Punk Show!!!
He has been there for all of us. Now it's time to return the favor. Houston has been an instution on th TXRD Production team. He is currently facing some medical issues and TXRD is joining together to support our dear friend. We hope to lessen the stress and have a good time for him and with him. Houston is an amazing person to know and we need to raise money to ensure his medical issues get resolved and he enjoys many many more years with us . Please come out and show your support for the man that runs a huge part of the Red River music scene, builds a mean rollerderby track and has always been there for us.
